Garden Types

The variety of garden types is as diverse as the people who own them. Here we offer a small sampling of some gardens that highlight our designs and installations.

Full-sun Gardens — Sometimes these are sunny borders, other times they are island beds. Regardless of where they are physically located, they receive six or more hours of full sun a day.

Partial Sun/Shade Gardens — These gardens enjoy the best of both worlds. They get some sun for about three to five hours each day and then are just as happy to enjoy the shade for the rest of the day.

Shade Gardens — These gardens generally thrive in either deep shade or dappled shade from nearby trees. There are plants for both dry shade and moist shade. These plants receive little or no direct sunlight, some dappled light throughout the day, or up to three hours of sun each day.

Entry Gardens — Your entry garden could be the first impression your guests have of you. Make it a good one! We can design and implement a new plan!

Hillside Plantings — Slopes can be tough to manage, especially when erosion is a problem. We can design a hillside planting for you that will not only be attractive but also act as an erosion-control mechanism.

Ponds — Aquatic gardens are a special touch in the right landscape. But, they aren’t for everyone on every property. In addition, plants around the pond are critical to creating an environment that feels like the pond is supposed to be there. We can guide you, design a pond, and install it for you!
