In the fall of 2006 the Friends of the Dwight-Derby House, Inc. reached out to The Garden Continuum, Inc. to help them put together a master plan for the landscape. The goals included…
- Screening to mitigate views to surrounding commercial development
- Removal of invasive plant species
- New plantings to include native plant species
- Design of areas suitable for outdoor functions such as weddings and receptions.
With input from the FDDH members a plan was developed and donated by The Garden Continuum which respects the historical nature of the site while at the same time allowing the town of Medfield to hold events that will ideally generate income to help with the ongoing restoration and preservation of the house and land.
