Bulbs - A Bulb Garden at the Sea

2

Only a short distance from the ocean, this wind-swept perennial garden stays dormant until the spring warmth coaxes them upwards. Wind or no wind the bulbs shoot out of the ground with vigor and drive far earlier than the perennials ever will. The play of white and yellow makes a cheerful greeting to the spring season and fills the space before the perennials are ready to make their appearance.

Daffodils are great plants you use when you have issues with deer and rabbits on your landscape. These bulbs along with Muscari, Hyacinths, and Fritillaria will bloom untouched by most critters! AND they are beautiful floral displays.

The season is winding down, but the bulbs greet the Spring with vigor and hope. They also solve or enhance a multitude of design issues or garden challenges.

Any activity that will extend the gardening season or make it more colorful is worthwhile. Adding bulbs is just the activity for this time of year. Work now...benefit in six months!

What a beautiful spot in your garden. I get all excited by the sight of the cheerfully blooming flowers. I am just as enthusiastic about planting bulbs to add seasonal color: little effort in fall and great surprises in springtime. Have fun!
